Senior Moot

What is it?

The Senior Moot is only available to UOW Law students in their third year and above. Teams of two will be given a problem question set as an appeal in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, normally based on criminal law.

Each round is judged by legal professionals and academics to ensure competitors receive quality, constructive feedback. The competition is regarded as the most prestigious of our internal competitions, and gives students the opportunity to fine tune their advocacy, legal research and teamwork skills.

Grand Final winners gain the privilege of competing in the Hugo Law Criminal Intervarsity Competition.

Mooting is a rewarding co-curricular activity to develop skills inherent to the legal profession as well as aiding your future legal studies. Students are welcome and encouraged to compete, whether they have competed in the Junior Moot previously or not. Participation is highly esteemed throughout the legal profession, and a great way to enhance your resume and confidence.
