Graduating with a University of Wollongong Law degree provides students with potentially unlimited career opportunities, be it a legal career or a non-legal career. The UOW LSS Careers Portfolio aims to inform students of the various career opportunities available to law graduates and provides assistance with applications for internships, clerkships and graduate programs.

Competitions
Fancy yourself the next Harvey Specter? Think you’ve got the gift of the gab? Consider yourself very… very persuasive? Well then, competitions are for you!
The Law Students’ Society runs many competitions over the course of the year. Each competition is designed to test particular skill sets required in the legal profession.
Competitions look very impressive on your resume and set you apart from the other graduates going for competitive legal jobs. Employers love this kind of stuff – it shows you took the initiative to get involved and took an opportunity to develop your legal skills. Competitions also help cement your knowledge of the law, which is very helpful come exam time and can help you to improve your final grades.

Events
Don’t stop there, make sure you match Harvey’s ‘equal parts swagger and smarts’ by showing up to the best events in Wollongong this year!
The events side of the Law Students’ Society is a wonderful opportunity to get to know other law students and just have a lot of fun!
Each year we run a number of events designed to allow students to kick back and relax, to enjoy themselves and take a well deserved break from those treacherous readings.
Overall, social events give something back to law students who (usually) work so hard during the year, and I encourage you all to get your friends together and attend the next one! Check out the events calendar for all the dates to mark down. (coming soon)
