PARTNER WITH US

Leading, fearlessly.

The University of Wollongong Law Students’ Society (UOWLSS) is always on the look out for new opportunities to partner with our future employers and our community to enrich the student experience and unleash the potential of our budding young lawyers.

Our Law Students’ Society was born out of a law school that prides itself on its deep commitment to social justice. This sets our law students apart because they learn to understand the real world impact of the law. Students are required to experience the law in action and apply their knowledge outside the classroom.

In 2018, our School of Law was ranked 85th worldwide, 8th in Australia and 3rd in New South Wales by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. In addition, the Federal Government’s Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching ranked UOW as the best university in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory for Law and Paralegal Studies. These accolades are in part, due to the generosity of existing our sponsors and the collaborative opportunities we are able to provide our students as a result.

2018 saw the expansion of our School of Law to the University’s South Western Sydney Campus, tapping into a new student market and generating significant publicity.

The year also saw the celebration of 100 years of Women in Law and the most diverse calendar of extra-curricular and careers events in the history of our young law school. Our students won national advocacy competitions, and went on to represent our region in international arenas.

The relationship between our students, and the professional and academic legal communities developed immensely.

The work of the Law Students’ Society allows our students to experience the law in action, to think critically and to focus on the social and ethical context in which the law operates.

With your help, the University of Wollongong’s we can shape outstanding law students – informed, independent and responsible problem solvers – who are prepared to venture into the legal profession.

Together, we can shape the next generation of legal graduates.

If you are interested in partnering with us, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and email president@uowlss.net.

THEODORE TOTSIS
PRESIDENT
UOW LAW STUDENTS’ SOCIETY

We mean business.

For almost 30 years, the University of Wollongong’s Law Students’ Society has been enriching the student experience and encouraging students to develop their legal knowledge outside the classroom.

From an initial membership of 20 students in 1991, the University of Wollongong Law Students’ Society has grown to over 2000 members.

We add value to a University of Wollongong Law Degree, enhancing the educational, vocational and social experience of our students throughout their time at law school. We provide a wealth of opportunity to our members and pride ourselves on offering free membership to all incoming students.

Today, we are the largest student-run body at the University of Wollongong.

We are committed to being inclusive, future-focused and fearless.

We uphold our School of Law’s commitment to social justice and seek to have a positive and meaningful impact in our University community and in the communities that support our campuses.

To us, being inclusive is a commitment – a commitment to respect the voice of every student and value diversity of opinion and experience.

Being future-focused means that we are driven to deliver opportunities to our students, to equip them with the skills and capabilities to thrive in our ever-evolving legal profession.

And in being fearless, we aim to act with purpose and with ambition in all we do.

We mean business and we welcome the opportunity to collaborate with you, and build a professional and fruitful relationship based on these values.

Together, we can deliver new and innovative opportunities to transform the student experience and benefit the ever-growing and geographically diverse student body that is proud to study at the University of Wollongong.
